Managing Conversations
OptimaChat saves your conversations automatically. This page explains how to work with your conversation history.
The conversation sidebar
The sidebar on the left side of the Chat page lists your saved conversations, most recent first. Click any conversation to reopen it and continue where you left off.

Conversation titles
Each conversation is given a title automatically based on your first message. The title appears in the sidebar so you can identify conversations at a glance.
Creating a new conversation
Click New Chat at the top of the sidebar to start a fresh conversation. The current conversation is saved automatically before the new one opens.
Reopening a past conversation
Click any conversation in the sidebar to open it. The full message history loads and you can send new messages to continue the conversation.
Deleting a conversation
To delete a conversation, hover over it in the sidebar to reveal the delete option. Deleting a conversation is permanent — it cannot be recovered.
Conversation persistence
Conversations are stored on the Gateway server, not in your browser. This means:
- Your conversation history is available when you log in from a different browser or device.
- Clearing your browser data does not delete your conversations.
- Conversations are linked to your user account and are not visible to other users.
Administrators may configure data retention policies that automatically remove older conversations.
